I suppose there are a lot of car memories, but I have to mention this one. When I got married we decided to take the car I drove, the white Tempo with the blue guts, on our honeymoon. Diane and Larry took video of us seeing the decorated car and driving off in wedded bliss. You hear on the wedding video mom and my mother-in-law saying they can't believe we're married and kind of crying at the thought of their babies driving away. And the last thing you hear in the background is dad, "Well, there goes our old car, dear."
I'm pretty sure it was his way of saying that life was changing and we kids were all going to grow up too soon. After all, to dad, a car is just a car that can be traded in any day without the slightest bit of remorse (except for maybe some on mom's part--especially if she never got a picture;).)

No, actually I think I was going to miss the car. It was the first one we lost by marriage.
Maybe you meant, "there goes our (first born child with that idiot that likes to sit outside his apartment in the sun and read) old car dear."
