My Bear Lake Memories

I don't remember a whole lot about Bear Lake because I was kind of young and I never did any lake activities. I do remember swimming in the pools, playing on the playground, miniature golfing, and playing games with family. I think my favorite memory is going to get shakes (surprise). I always looked forward to that activity and remember loving the ice cream.

Bear Lake

With the Dibb family reunion quickly approaching I thought it would be fun to share some memories of our reunions at Bear Lake. I know there are many, so post more than once if you would like.

Poor 6th child

I know I was supposed to post this forever ago, but I just found the picture I was looking for. :)

I remember one year I hid eggs for Nathan for an Easter egg hunt. He was still fairly young but the rest of us were too old to care about those kinds of things. We were not planning on having an Easter egg hunt and I felt sorry for him and wanted him to have fun.

I don't know if this picture is of the hunt we had that year or not, but it is still a fun picture that brings back that memory.

Egg Hunt

I don't even remember the details of this story. The only thing I can think of is the time (maybe times) that whoever hid the hard-boiled eggs for the hunt forgot where they all were. I think they stayed hidden until someone sniffed them out. I vaguely remember an egg being found inside of the old floor lamp. I could have totally made this story up in my head, but I hope not because it's kind of funny. :)

Snake attack...

When John and I were young, probably around six and four, we were playing in the backyard of our American Fork house. I remember jumping off of the swing, and heading over to the porch to go in the house. But right there in the middle of the sidewalk, was a big water snake. I started screaming, and John just rolled his eyes at me, walked over to the pile of bricks in the carport, and smashed the snake. He saved my life! From then on, my little brother was my big hero. Happy Birthday John--I love you!

The Major Paper Cut...

I jut HAD to share this memory. It is such a funny family story.
John and I were fighting one time (I know, we never did this, but for some reason we were this night;) ) and he grabbed my vocabulary book (which was about the size of a Primary Manual) from the table and chucked it at me. I'm no dummy, I ducked, and the missile intended for me hit dad right on top of the head. John and I immediately stopped fighting so we could join together laughing at dad writhing in pain. His head was bleeding, and dad said "That is one major paper cut!" Whenever I think about that Pleasant Grove house and High School, I think of my vocabulary book and this crazy story.
